TOPIC: "Legal Developments in Harassment Prevention"

Whether workplaces are in person, on site or virtual, harassment and discrimination can (and does) happen. Employers need to stay up-to-date on best practices for promoting an inclusive workplace and avoiding unlawful harassment and discriminatory behavior. This presentation will look at the EEOC’s updated Enforcement Guidance on Harassment in the Workplace and other legal trends so that HR and business professionals can develop and implement measures that go beyond just policies to implementing a culture of civility and inclusiveness.

Our Speaker: Andrea G. Chatfield, Esq.

Andrea provides practical advice and guidance to employers on risk management issues in the workplace.  She also represents employers of all types and sizes before administrative agencies in discrimination, whistleblower, unemployment, and wage disputes. She conducts in-house trainings for employers and serves as an outside investigator for employers who need to respond to highly sensitive internal complaints of discrimination and harassment. She is a frequent public speaker on employment law issues.

Andrea is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Andrea is listed in Chambers USA as one of the leading employment lawyers in New Hampshire and in Best Lawyers of America® for Employment Law – Management (recognized in 2019 as “Lawyer of the Year” in Manchester for Employment Law – Management). Andrea received the 2022 Ry Perry HR Hero Award at the Granite State HR Conference. In addition, she is the Government Relations & Legislative Chair for the HR State Council of New Hampshire. She also serves as the Vice Chair of the HR/Healthcare/Workforce Development Committee for the Business & Industry Association of NH.

TOPIC: " HR Audits: Red, Yellow, Green: What Does it Mean? "

When was the last time your team conducted an HR Audit? Many HR professionals are intimidated to conduct a full audit of their organization and are anxious to uncover what they might find. In this session, people experts Melissa Tipton and Alisa Angelo will walk you through best practices when conducting an HR Audit. They will cover the steps of an audit, like locating the correct documents and analyzing the ten areas of the employee experience like Talent Acquisition, Training and Development, Compliance, and more through the stoplight approach.

The goal of a successful HR Audit is to get your organization to the desired future state of your employee experience by revealing your strengths and areas to improve. Doing the hard work now will ensure your team’s success for the future, and it can even be fun!

        TOPIC: "Employee Handbook Hygiene"

If you haven't updated your employee handbook in more than a couple of years, it is time for some clean-up. Although Congress has not done much in some time, the state legislatures and federal agencies have been busy. This session will focus on new policies you need and old policies you need to change. We will also talk about ways to make your handbooks more user friendly, in other words, clear and to the point, and a better reflection of your company culture and vision.
