Working Hard or Hardly Working: Addressing the Challenges of Managing the New Remote/Hybrid Work Force (45 minutes).

As Employers try to turn the corner from COVID, the realities of the new work space must be addressed.  Whether occasional or permanent, hybrid or fully-remote, employers need to understand the implications and challenges presented when employees work from home.  This presentation will focus on the challenges of managing a remote work environment with a particular emphasis on the multitude of wage and hour compliance issues that can arise when managing non-exempt employees.  The program will include practical guidance and best practices for managing the remote workforce.

Hiring in a Tight Labor Market: Avoiding the Legal Pitfalls Now and Later (45 minutes)

In a tight labor market, the legal challenges of hiring are only amplified.  This presentation will focus on legal compliance to help ensure hiring is done right.  This program will also focus on best practices and practical guidance to avoid legal challenges from current employees or legal issues in the future, with a particular focus on pay equity and avoiding discrimination challenges.

DEI: Looking Through the Legal Lens (45 minutes)

This presentation will review typical DEI litigation that arises followed up by a discussion of preventive measures employers should implement or update and what an immediate response should look like when there is an internal complaint.  Topics covered will include development of a comprehensive policy, institution of training for both staff and management, and an overview of the investigative process.
